On April 20, 2023, the Australian Anti Dumping Review Panel (ADRP) issued a notice revoking its decision to continue imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese wear-resistant balls.
This eight year anti dumping, anti subsidy, and anti subsidy investigation by Australia against Huanai wear-resistant balls ultimately ended in a complete victory for Longteng Special Steel wear-resistant balls! Australia will no longer impose Dumping (pricing policy)#Anti-dumping actions on wear-resistant ball products imported from Longteng Special Steel and other Chinese enterprises, and the taxed amount after September 9, 2021 will be refunded.
Changshu Longte Abrasive Ball Co., Ltd. is the first wear-resistant medium manufacturer in China and the second largest wear-resistant medium manufacturer in the world, and the largest wear-resistant ball exporter from China to Australia.
The prosecution in this case is Molycop, the world's largest manufacturer of wear-resistant media. As Chinese companies continue to grow and enter the world, they will inevitably engage in direct competition with international giants in the industry.
Is it a retreat or a confrontation?
Xu Sheng, Deputy General Manager of Longteng Special Steel, firmly affirmed the company's perseverance by saying, "We have achieved the second place in the world, and the confrontation with the first place is inevitable. This is a lifelong enemy.
Case Introduction | PROFILE
The case agency team Dacheng International Trade Relief Team, led by senior partner Hu Fumao, cooperated with partner Zhanyi of Australia's top trade law firm Moulis Legal, and represented Longteng Special Steel in responding to Australia's anti-dumping and countervailing investigations against China Wear resistant ball for many times, and obtained the following response results:
1. Original investigation (case number 3162015): anti-dumping 3%, countervailing 0%, national minimum tax rate, exemption from countervailing review investigation;
2. Interim review investigation (case No. 5202019): anti-dumping tax rate of 2.1%, the lowest tax rate in China;
3. Sunset Review Investigation (Case No. 5692021): Anti dumping 0% (dumping margin -8.9%), the Minister has decided to continue taxation;
4. ADRP review: Revoke the ministerial decision, terminate the tax collection and refund on Huanai grinding balls.
It is worth noting that in the context of the tension between Australia–China relations, the sunset review result on September 9, 2021 is the first time that the Minister of Industry and Technology of Australia has rejected the recommendation of the Anti Dumping Commission (ADC) and directly made the opposite decision in Australia's anti-dumping practice. It is not easy to successfully overturn the ruling!
During the eight years of the "Anti Japanese War", Longteng Special Steel and Dacheng Trade Relief Team continuously became proficient in the application of Australian anti-dumping laws and algorithms, fully combined with the actual situation of the enterprise to develop accurate response strategies, maintaining long-term, stable, and efficient performance, creating favorable conditions for the company to be in a leading position in the market from beginning to end, and maximizing the protection of the interests of Chinese enterprises.
